Let’s be real; everyone uses Office 365 to navigate the working day. With Microsoft Office 365 home plans, business plans and even enterprise plans available, it can be bewildering to know which one is right for you. This article will help you compare all the features available on each plan so you can make the right choice.
Plus, we can help you save money on Office 365 plans by sharing via the network of Together Price so you can work smarter, not harder and save more than 80% on the cost.
To create the kind of digital office suite you want to access through the Microsoft services, you can either choose a Home plan, Business plan or Enterprise plan, based on how many people are using your office space and what you intend to use it for.
Here’s a list (plain and simple) of all the plans that Microsoft offers:
Microsoft Office 365 Family plan
Microsoft Office 365 Personal plan
Microsoft Office 365 Business Basic
Microsoft Office 365 Business Standard
Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium
Microsoft Office 365 Apps for Business
Microsoft Office 365 E3
Microsoft Office 365 E5
Microsoft office 365 F1
Microsoft Office 365 Apps for Enterprise
These are for your basic day-to-day usage. If you’re not planning to use Microsoft among your business, and just want to share it with your household or even just for yourself, then these are the plans for you!
If you’re planning to share a Microsoft 365 account with up to 6 people then this is the plan for you.
Annual commitment is priced at $99.99/year or $9.99/month. 1TB of cloud storage per person, or up to 6TB total, which lets you save up to 500,000 photos. You also get 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage.
The Premium features you get with this plan include smart assistance features in Word, Excel and Powerpoint, plus an ad-free email and calendar experience with Outlook. You can even call up to 300 people and talk for 30 hours undisturbed on Microsoft Teams, should you wish to do so!
This plan, along with the Personal Plan, will also protect you against advanced threats when using Office 365 online with Premium safety features; the Family Plan even offers further protection (at no extra cost) with access to features on the Microsoft 365 Family Safety mobile app.
This is virtually the same as Microsoft 365 Family, with additional features like OneNote.
Annual commitment equates to $69.99/year or $6.99/month.
You can use this subscription on up to 5 different devices so you don’t need to worry about limiting your usage; bonus - you can easily save and share files using OneDrive so you can access. This plan also offers advanced security protection for Outlook and OneDrive and when using office online versions.

Every business office needs a plan with Office Microsoft on its side. There are 4 different options available: Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Microsoft 365 Business standard, Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Microsoft 365 Apps for Business.
If your organization or small business needs easy access to remote work, this is a great option for you. You get Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneDrive and Sharepoint services included, plus Microsoft teams and Office Online. You also get access to the web and mobile versions of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Note: you don’t get access to the desktop versions of Office Online, Microsoft Teams, or the Secure Cloud Storage apps with this plan.
The price for this plan is $6 per user/month.
Security is standard and if your business is doing a significant amount of work remotely, we’d recommend a plan with more advanced features which will provide added security when using Outlook and office online.
This offers all the features of Business Basic but with additional features, like the desktop versions of Office 365 apps. Business standard is great if your office suite needs full access to collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Secure cloud storage, business email and premium office apps.
A definite advantage to this plan is that you can get these as desktop apps under this business plan rather than online versions. What’s more is the additional services and apps that your business could access: Publisher and Access.
The cost that Microsoft charges for this deal is currently $12.50 per user/month.
If your organization works fully remotely, this package should be hot under your radar.
This is similar to Business Standard, but the access to more advanced security is what really sets it aside; this deal comes with azure information protection which will keep all of your information shielded at all costs.
If your organization is a small to medium-size business that is handling sensitive data, Microsoft 365 Business Premium is a reliable option to meet your needs. The cost of this package is $22 per user/month.
Apps for business come with all of the great perks of the Business standard: desktop versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more, and is a great simple option to cover your needs. It’s essentially business standard, but without access to Sharepoint and the exchange online plan. It’s a great plan for all your business processes and is available for $8.25 per user/month.
Microsoft 365 Enterprise works well for large organizations, including those under the branch of the government. There is some confusion about the overlap between some of the Enterprise plans and the Business plans, though.
These plans are designed to have bonus features like highly protective anti-cyberthreat security (even more advanced than azure information protection!), as well as your typical access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a whole host of other premium apps, like Enterprise Mobility, Active Directory Integration, Access Management, and lots more.
I would advise looking at Microsoft’s website to properly explore the intricate differences in these plans.
