HBO Max offers three subscription levels. There is the level with ads and two ad free tiers.
The ad-supported plan costs $9.99 per month, or annually at $99.99, which saves you 16% of the monthly cost, and allows you to download and watch 30 titles on the go and stream in Full HD.
The ad-free plan is slightly more expensive and allows you to download and watch 30 titles on the go and stream in Full HD. This plan costs $15.99 per month or $149.99 per year.
The Ultimate ad-free plan costs $19.99 a month, or $199.99 a year, and allows you to download and watch 100 titles on the go and stream in UHD 4K.

What about the HBO Max student discount?
In the past, HBO Max did offer a student discount for those of its subscribers who were College students and needed to save a bit of money. As of 2022, however, there is no current option for a discounted monthly rate if you want to access HBO’s exclusive content.
A student subscription is, therefore, the same price as a normal HBO Max subscription.
How do I save money on my HBO Max subscription?
Just because there are no longer student discounts available for HBO Max doesn’t mean you have to fork out a lot of money to pay for your streaming platform.
